Teeth whitening, also known as "bleaching" is a cosmetic procedure, which brightens the appearance of your natural teeth. When the teeth whitening is done under the control of a dental professional and not too often, it is a great way to improve the appearance of your natural teeth without more invasive prosthetic procedures. There are two methods for teeth whitening: directly in our dental practice ("in-office bleaching") or by using special individually made aligners at home ("home-bleaching").

Root canal treatment
Endodontology is a specialty in dentistry, which deals with the diseases of the pulp (tooth nerv) und the treatment of the root canals. With the endodontic therapy we can save your natural teeth. Today the modern methods in the endodontology, which we use in our practice- such as optical magnification with special dental loupes, electronic determination of the length of the root canal (apex locator) and the mechanical preparation with flexible nickel-titan files, allow us to treat teeth with a complicated anatomy and curved root canals, which was not possible in the past.

Prosthetics and Oral Rehabilitation

Prosthetics or prosthodontics is a specialty in dentistry, which deals with the restoration of missing or destructed teeth, the rehabilitation of the masticatory function and the esthetic appearance of the smile. Depending on the individual condition of the teeth there are different therapeutic methods. A very important factor for the successful oral rehabilitation is the proper restoration of the bite and the chewing function.
Periodontology
Gingivitis is an inflammation of the gums, caused by the bacterial plaque, when the teeth are not being cleaned properly. Treated on time the gingivitis is a completely reversible disease. The untreated chronical gingivitis causes the progression of the disease and leads to periodontitis. Periodontitis is a destructive inflammatory disease of the gums and the tissues around the teeth, leading to loss of bone level (attachment of the teeth in the jawbone) and loosen of the teeth. Periodontitis is the main reason for tooth loss among adults. More than 30 % of the population over 30 years of age have Periodontitis and because it is mostly a chronicle condition, which is not painful, it remains unnoticed by the patient for a long time. The most common symptom is the increased bleeding of the gums.

TMD Diagnostic and Bruxism Therapy
Teeth grinding and pressing
Bruxism is defined as a parafunction (anormal activity) of the masticatory muscles, which is charachterized by excessive teeth grinding or pressing. This can cause symptoms such as pain in the area of the masticatory muscels, the face, the jaws and the temporomandibular joint, headache, as well as an increased tooth wear and loss of vertical dimension of the bite. The most common therapy method is the use a special oral appliance (dental splint) during the night, which decreases the activity of the muscles and the compression of the joint and protects the teeth.
Treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea
A modern method for treating snoring and mild to moderate form of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is by using a special oral appliance (dental splint). Prior the therapy with an oral appliance a consultation with an ENT-Specialist is needed. The anti snoring oral appliances we offer in our clinic (Silenor-sl® and TAP®) are produced in certified dental laboratories in Sofia as well as in Germany.
